This particular blog is not related to Manchester United, I’m fully aware of that but it could be of interest especially when compared to Fergusons transfer deals in his first five seasons at Old Trafford as can be seen on this website
Rafa traded 70 players in and 72 players out. That’s a huge 142 transfer deals in 5 seasons, an average of almost 30 players per season!
His total net spend was just on £82 million for an average of around £16 million per season and still no silverware for 3 years on the trot!
If I was a Liverpool fan I will be asking a lot of questions like
“Should any quality manager make this multitude of mistakes in transfers?
“Does Rafa have any knowledge of the true £ value of the players he buys?”
“How many millions went directly into the pockets of player agents?”
“How many agents were involved in these deals? Were they the same ones over and over again or were there a large number involved?” Does it matter? Think about it.
Of course there is no suggestion that brown paper bags stuffed with cash has ever changed hands. Am I simply being suspicious? Of course I am. Like everything else in life, the older you get the more cynical you become.

Fergusons deals worked out to a nett outlay of just under 19 million pounds while Rafa’s nett was nearly 82 million.
